Welcome to Chestnut Class

Welcome to 2026-2027

It is lovely to be back in school again and to see the children fresh faced and ready to go. Here is a taste of what Chestnut Class have in store this term:

Mrs. Chapman will teach the class on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and Mrs. Campey on Thursdays.

Our new English text will be "Ocean Meets Sky" by the Fan Brothers. This is a beautifully illustrated book which will inspire children to write their own dream narrative. This also fits in beautifully with our geography topic of Antarctica.

Chestnut Class always has a big push on reading, so please look out for Reading Records which will be coming home this week, promptly followed by book recommendations and details of our Class Reading Challenge.

In science, we will be learning about the human digestive system, teeth and food chains.

PE lessons will be on Thursdays with Mrs. Campey and Fridays with Stockport FC, so please make sure your kit is in school each week.

Children do not need to, but are welcome to bring a pencil case to school as long as it will fit in their tray. Please send in water bottles daily and remember to label your child's bottle as there are many duplicates in school.
