Flagship School for Emotional Health and Wellbeing in Education

We are delighted to have been chosen to be a Flagship School for Emotional Health and Wellbeing in Education within Cheshire East.

Mental and emotional health and wellbeing, resilience and a sense of belonging are very important in the development of children. Here at St Anne’s Fulshaw Primary School, we pride ourselves on supporting our pupils in these areas, and continue to improve our provision through training and working together with other organisations who specialise in the mental and emotional wellbeing of children and adults.

We are currently working towards our Emotionally Heathy School AcSEED accreditation.

Due to the nature of our small and inclusive school, visitors often refer to the positive feeling they get as they view or engage with our school; a feeling of welcome, warmth, happiness and a community of nurturing, caring staff.

Our school aims to:

  • help our children to understand their feelings and emotions better
  • help our children to feel comfortable and able to talk about their worries and concerns
  • encourage our children to develop resilience and problem solve
  • help our children understand and show empathy and kindness to others
  • promote self-esteem and self confidence
  • help children socially to form and maintain positive friendships
  • make our children feel valued and safe
  • promote positive mental health and wellbeing

Our school also benefits from the Rainbow Calm Corner, which has been set up as a quiet and private area for children to access when they are feeling emotionally vulnerable.

Our Senior Mental Health Lead and Learning Mentor, Ms S Davies, is always available to the children when they need to talk and to offer support.
